Barbecue Sauce

DATE: 09/19/2009
FRUIT: 4 quarts of tomato puree from the slightly blemished tomatoes in the bushel I got to make canned tomatoes, 24 apples, 4 really big onions
SOURCE: CSA farm, farmer’s market
COST: $34.00
RECIPE: Relish, Sauce, and Chutney – All in One Day, from Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.
YIELD: 14 pints, and about 3/4 pint in the fridge
TASTE: yummy
NOTES: I only make the first sauce and I let it cook down forever, the recipe says 2 hours, I do more like 4. I also puree the sauce with my immersion blender because I want sauce, not relish.
