Canned Peaches

FRUIT: 35 peaches
SOURCE: farmer’s market, I bought a half-bushel crate (50 peaches this time) for $27
COST: $19.00
RECIPE: peel, the peaches and cut into slices, hot pack and cover with syrup (3:1 water:sugar ratio), process for 20 minutes
YIELD: 7 quarts plus one quart failed to seal so it’s in the fridge
TASTE: yummy and not too sweet
NOTES: I made way too much syrup (12 cups water, cups sugar) so I think I’ll be making jelly tomorrow, also had one sealing failure and most of the syrup came out too
